Through sculpture and manipulation of pre-existent objects and spaces, Kate Harrison’s practice considers site as a scenario, full of personal contingencies and collective histories.
The work, a process of selection, arrangement, unmaking and reemphasis examines the relationship between place and viewer produced in a manipulated locality. She is interested in a suggestion of narrative rather than providing a linear or literal reading. Negotiating the real and the unreal to provide subtexts and to probe at universal phobic pressure points.
